Board Rule Exempts Residents from ACSC Requirement

The Board amended its Administrative Rules concerning the requirement that a physician must annually obtain an Alabama Controlled Substances Certificate registration in order to distribute, prescribe or dispense controlled substances to exempt medical residents from this requirement for a period of 18 months from the date of the first year of the residency program.  This rule was adopted on an emergency basis effective May 20, 2010.

The final rule will be effective August 26, 2010.
